Primary research: Finding the right question to ask and drafting a questionnaire to gather data

The first problem is the amount of questions needed, i want to make sure that whilst having questions that are in depth and give the information needed that i also take length into account and the attention span of the people answering. Roughly i hope to condense the questionnaire into 6-7 questions that will effectively gather the data i need.

Q1 - I want to make sure that the first question is about something more relatable than Esports but still related to the overall topic, so i decided that i would ask about video games in general as it means i might be able to get a larger group to answer some of the questions rather than just finding people interested in Esports already. So as the first question a simple question that fits the brief would be a yes or no question like 'Do you play video games?'

Q2 - i then want to ask the question 'are you male or female?' as it enables me to gather further information on difference in gender
